Leanna, wife of Edwin W. Bittner, Slatedale, passed away at her home there Saturday morning at 12:15 o'clock as a result of a cerebral hemorrhage, aged 69 years, 9 months and 12 days. She was born in Washington Township, Lehigh County, the daughter of the late Reuben and Lucy Ann, nee Peter, Rex. Her husband, Edwin W. Bittner, survives, as do these four daughters, Mrs. Orville Buck, Sellersville; Mrs. George Kistler, Mrs. Ralph Blose, Mrs. Raymond Blose, the last three of Slatedale. There also survive twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother Wilson Rex, Justice of Peace, Slatedale, and a half-brother Alfred Blose, also of Slatedale. A member of the Lutheran wing of the Trinity Lutheran and Reformed Church, Slatedale, Mrs. Bittner was a faithful worker, one who always took an active interest in the affairs of the congregation, and the Sunday school of the same church also received much of her time and willing aid. The pastor of that church, Rev. J. H. Longacre, will officiate at the funeral service Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. The interment will be made in Slatedale Cemetery.
