I took the children, there were eight of them with one only a small baby and a small bundle of clothes and took off running down the deer paths, leading the children by the hand and holding the baby, The fire caught up to us and started the forest along the path buring. The trees crasched down as we ran, even the clothes on our backs burned. Some houw my son Edward got left from the long line of children following im and burned in the woods.
The next day Senia died form the smoke she had inhaled during our flight.
