Agnes Van Leeuwen, 83, of Hospers died Monday, May 15, at Heritage Home in Orange City.
Services were at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 18, at First Christian Reformed Church in Hospers. Burial was in the Hospers Cemetery.
The former Agnes Steinberg was born February 18, 1906, at Rock Valley, the daughter of Jacob & Katherine (Snoek) Steinberg. She moved to Denver, Colorado, as a child and returned to Rock Valley at the age of 10. She married Albert Van Leeuwen at Rock Valley February 19, 1925. The couple farmed near Rock Valley a short time and then moved into Rock Valley. They moved to Denver during the Depression to find work and after six years returned to Iowa and settled in Hospers. He died October 29, 1986.
She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church and Priscilla Society of the church.
Survivors include one son, John; three daughters, Kay; Joan and Betty; a sister, Kate; 24 grandchildren and 53 great grandchildren.
