He retired from NSWC Crane in the ordnance department and served his country in the U.S. Army in WWII. He was a member of the Bloomfield First Christian Church, Bloomfield Masonic Lodge #84, Bloomfield Order of Eastern Star #538, Scottish Rite Indianapolis and the Bloomfield Odd Fellows Lodge.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Doris L. Miller (Robert) of Bloomington; two sons, Carl Dewayne Allen (Sharon) and William Leon Allen (Pam) both of Bloomfield; ten grandchildren, thirteen great, grandchildren and five great, great, grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Mabel Mae (King) Allen on October 2, 2008, 5 brothers, 3 sisters and his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Bloomfield First Christian Church, with Rev. Arlen Pope and Rev. Dave Wilde officiating. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
