Jess D. Melton was born near Audubon, Wise County, Texas to George Washington Melton 1853-1939 and Matha Ann "Mattie" Wilson 1856-1936. His first marriage was to Hattie Love on December 24, 1900 in Alvord, Wise, Texas.
He later married Blanche W. Melton 1877-1979. Jess died in March 1946 in Santa Clara, California. We are uncertain as to the cemetery of his burial.
