Services for George D. Valentine, 79, retired Olney farmer were officiated by Rev. Adrian Coleman, pastor of the Calvary Baptist church of Brownwood, officiating.

G.D. Valentine married Myrtle Newby in 1905 at Graham, Texas. The couple moved to Olney in 1924.

Mr. Valentine saw service in the Philippines during the Spanish American War and was a member of the VFW. He had been a Baptist since young manhood.

Survived by his wife; four daughters - Mrs. Ed Rehder, Mrs. Clarence Corley, Mrs. Russell Cope, Mrs. J.L. Clark; four sisters - Mrs. Carrie Deaton, Mrs. Willie Allen, Mrs. Walter Harris, Mrs. Charles Fletcher; two brothers - Lewis Valentine and Lawrence Valentine; 10 grandchildren.
