Although foul play is not suspected in the death of Richard Johnson, 41, of Milledgeville. Godard said an inquest will probably be held when state Crime Lab test results are available.
An autopsy performed by Dr. D.A. Pinero revealed Mr. Johnson had diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease, Godard said. Mr. Johnson was found dead at the rear door of the motel dining room around 7:30 a.m., lying face down, said Baldwin Chief Deputy Eugene Ellis.
The circumstances surrounding the death are what prompted Godard to consider calling the inquest, he said.
Agents for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are also investigating the death.
