"FOY THOMPSON DIES IN HOSPITAL
"Services Wednesday For Retired Farmer
"Foy K. Thompson, 68, R.R. 1, Flat Rock, retired farmer and Washington Township resident for 35 years, died at 9:15 p.m. Sunday at Major Hospital. He had been in failing health 10 years and was hospitalized six weeks ago.
"Mr. Thompson was the son of former Police Chief John B. and Florence (Kendall) Thompson, and was born here Nov. 22, 1899. He was married Aug. 29, 1919 to Daisy L. Stansifer and she survives.
"Also surviving are a son, Bruce Thompson, Washington Township; three grandchildren; one brother, Maurice Thompson, and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Boots, both of Indianapolis. A brother and sister preceded in death.
"Mr. Thompson was a breeder of registered Angus cattle and a life member of the American Aberdeen Angus Association. He was a veteran of World War I, having served in France, a member of Victory Post No. 70, American Legion, and a charter member of Barracks 62, Veterans of World War I.
"He was active in county Democratic politics and served four times as delegate to the state convention. He attended the Norristown Community Church.
"Services will be at the Ewing Mortuary at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, with Rev. O.C. Boston and Rev. Jerry Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery with graveside military rites by the American Legion. Friends may call at the mortuary after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday."
