Obituary.

Died, at the home of his brother, J. D. McNair, in Liberty township, September 1st, 1901, Peter J., son of Peter McNair, Sr. aged 21 years, 5 months and 21 days.

Peter McNair was born in Warren county, Iowa, April 9, 1880. When about 7 years old he moved with hi parents to Clarke county, residing on a farm eight miles northeast of Osceola where he had lived the remainder of his life. In April last he was taken with what proved to be his last sickness, a severe cold resulting in consumption.

Peter was a young man of good character, cheerful in disposition, made and retained friends with equal readiness and was honored and respected by all. His untimely death has caused the deepest sympathy for the four remaining brothers. On Tuesday the remains were taken to St. Mary's church at Woodburn where the funeral was preached by Father Waldron and later interment was made in the cemetery near by. The entire community shares the loss of the bereaved family, but can only point for consolation to Him who doeth all things well.
