The reason I created this memorial is
John Kennedy was in the 27th MO. Mounted Inf. with my g-g-grampa Morrison M, LEE they fought at Lexington together. Morrison's Co. H and John's Co. K

I have searched f-a-g and come up zero for him but I have located his wife Adrailt Briscol LINKED
and his one and only child,
daughter Saida A Kennedy-Haugh #28527808
who married John Henry Haugh # 28527806
they are buried together in Michigan.

The first search in familysearch-records I did I only had John Kennedy Corp. and one muster card said he joined in Syracuse, MO. and another said Jefferson Co. and that he had been KIA at Lexington. So I found a JOHN KENNEDY
Pension card: for the 27th and it said "MINOR"
so I knew that he was married with at least one child. Then I started the search for Syracuse census record for a john with at least one child. And found
1860 census P.O. Syracuse Aug. 2 Morgan Co. MO
HEAD: John Kennedy age:32 "Exchange _____?" Ireland
Aona age:23 New York
Suda age:2 F Michigan
So I knew with this that they had just moved from Michigan to Missouri, and maybe married there. and found the marriage record for John/Adrailt Bristol. Since nothing came up using either the Aona name for wife or the Suda for a daughter. The marriage record for John Kennedy in Michigan looked good.

Michigan, Marriages, 1850-1940
NAME: John Kennedy
DATE OF BIRTH: 1829
PLACE OF BIRTH: Jonesville, Hillsdale, Michigan
SPOUSE'S NAME: Adrialt Bristol
DATE OF BIRTH: 1836
PLACE OF BIRTH: Johnstown, Barry, Michigan
EVENT DATE: 18 Jan. 1857
EVENT PLACE Johnstown, Barry, Michigan

1870 no record would come up for the wife Adrailt in MO or Mich... however, I did find the Saida Kennedy in Michigan.
and with the pension letters telling of her guardian as William Bristol and Deborah. With this I did a f-a-g search for the mother Adrailt Bristol-Kennedy.. and found that she had died before John did, leaving Saida an orphan to be raised by the grandparents. But she did OK found that she had married... and that is as far as I have taken it.

Letters attesting to her father's death at Lexington.
Battle of Lexington, Missouri Sept. 20, 1861
"being shot through the Brain."
as per the sworn & subscribed statement of
"Pvt. William Jones and 1st Lt. Frank McCabe
of the Co. K that they not only saw him get shot but they attested that they assisted in his burial."
(There are 30 pages of his military pension records
the grandparents had to go thru quite an ordeal to get the pension for Saida. Letters attesting to her birth as to when, where to whom she was born. Letters attesting to her father's death at Lexington. There is a certificate from the Adjutant Generals Office giving her father's name, rank, Regiment, date of death.)

Military Death Cert 27th Reg. Muster cards telling of his death at Lexington and the Muster in card as to when and where he joined the Reg.

I found Saida's death notice giving mother/father/spouse and where she died. And have since found her memorial and "suggest" to have her LINK to her parents.
