Married, Myrtle Ellen Funk, September 15, 1892. He was a Christian financier and became treasurer and general manager of Geiser Manufacturing Co. Later he became the president of the Landis Machine Co. where he served until his death. He was an active member and contributor of the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren and for more than forty years served on the Board of Trustees of Juniata College.
