CEDAR FALLS - Marie Eliza Haes, 83, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.
She was born on Valentine's Day in 1923 in Wiota, daughter of Albert "Pete" and Amelia Claussen Peterman. She married Frederick August "Bud" Haes Jr. Oct. 1, 1943, in Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death Aug. 24, 1995.
She received her business training at Craig Institute of Technology, Minneapolis, and worked as a supervisor at Rath Packing Co. during World War II. She was a homemaker while also involved in the family business, Peterman and Haes Floor Covering Co.
Survived by two sons, Jack (Julie) and Thomas (Bonnie), both of Waterloo; three daughters, Cynthia (Richard) Haes and Becky (Charles) Fairhurst, both of Riverside, Calif., and Angela (John Jr.) Haes Shephard of Cedar Falls; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Emory Peterman.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Public visitation from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
