Retired Havre area farmer, Jerry Dusek, 89, died of natural causes Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at a Helena nursing home surrounded by his children and caring staff. A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at the First Lutheran Church in Havre. Burial will take place in the Highland Cemetery, followed by coffee and cookies in the church fellowship hall. Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church, Havre, or Big Sky Care Center, Helena. Holland and Bonine Funeral Home, Havre, is in charge of arrangements.

Jerry was born Sept. 21, 1916, on the family homestead in Hingham to Fred and Pauline (Rypal) Dusek. Jerry spent all but the last five years in Hill County, where he farmed and worked in construction and carpentry. He retired from farming in 1987.

Jerry married Evelyn Danielson in Westby, on Nov. 5, 1945. Jerry and Evelyn lived in Havre raising four children.

Besides having a large garden every year, Jerry enjoyed playing whist, traveling, hunting and fishing with his family. Jerry had a special fondness for family get-togethers.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 54 years, Evelyn, and his brother, Fred Dusek Jr. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Gayle Padmos, Montana City; three sons, Gary, Bozeman; Doug, Havre; and Don, East Helena; five sisters, Rose Brandt, Oxnard, Calif.; Lydia Rice, Cortez, Colo.; Julia Pleskac, Havre; Mary Pleskac, Havre; and Betty Cloud, Greenville, Texas. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
