Funeral services were held Friday for Gerald H. Bennett of Palm Desert, who died Tuesday at Indio Community Hospital. He was 72. A native of Kaysville, Utah, he was a local and state resident for 26 years. He was also a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his wife, Nan, of Palm Desert; one son, Richard Bennett of Indio; one daughter, Penny Wyckoff of Yorba Linda; and five grandchildren. Other survivors include three sisters, Alice Gerber and Mary Flint, both of Utah, and Marion Bennett of Idaho; and one brother, Fern Rigby of Utah. Bishop Keith Ainsworth of the LDS Church in Indio officiated over the services at the Fitz Henry Funeral Home Chapel, also in Indio. Interment followed in the Coachella Valley Cemetery.
