"Howard Awtrey, of Animas, N.M. died Aug. 25, 2014 at the age of 80. He was born in Cloverdale, N.M. on June 16, 1934 to Fletcher A. Awtrey and Annie John Dean Awtrey.

Howard was a fencing contractor, liked to ride his bicycle and loved animals and children.

He is survived by his brothers Albert Awtrey of Deming, N.M. and Ted Awtrey of Rodeo, N.M. and his sister Kitty Graham of Colorado Springs, Colo. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his parents and his sister Arlene Wood.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. (New Mexico Time) on Saturday, Aug. 30 at the Middle Animas Cemetery, Animas, N.M."
