Whitfield Hane
Whitfield Watson Hane 84 retired superintendent of Mansfield Plantation died Sunday evening Nov 27 1987 at his residence.
Funeral services were today Dec 2 1987 at 11 am in Prince George Winyah Episcopal Church. Officiating was Dr Robert H Crewdson. Burial followed in Prince George Winyah Episcopal Churchyard under the direction of Mayer Funeral Home.
Mr Hane was born at Fort Motte on April 14 1903 a son of the late Albert Elmore Hane and Mrs Adelle Watson Hane. He was a graduate of Clemson University Class of 1926. Mr Hand had lived in Georgetown for more than 50 years and was a member of Prince George Winyah Episcopal Church.
Surviving are his widow Mrs Margaret Wragg Hane of Georgetown; two daughters Miss Margaret Whitfield Hane of Pawley’s Island and Mrs Carolina H Hoffman of Litchfield Beach and two grandchildren.
