Mayflower Descendant Spouse~~ Mercy was born about 1731 in Taunton, Massachusetts, which is located east of Providence, RI. She was the second wife of Samuel Wilde, a 5th. generation Mayflower Descendant in the line of John and Pricilla Alden. They were joined in marriage on May 9th., 1752, in Norton, Mass. At the time she was about 21 years old. I am descended from their son Samuel Peter Wild [1760-1801], who was a 6th. generation Mayflower Descendant. Mercy traveled to England with her husband in 1769 to claim property, and it was there that she died in the small town of Hyde, in the State of Cheshire at the age of 63. May she rest in peace. A PRAYER: God grant me kindly thought and patience through the day, and in the things I've wrought, let no man living say, that hate's grim mark has stained, what little joy I've gained.~~~ God keep my nature sweet, teach me to bear a blow, disaster and defeat, and no resentment show, if failure must be mine, sustain this soul of mine.~~~ God grant me strength to face, undaunted day or night; to stoop to no disgrace, to win my little fight; let me be, when it's o'er, as ladylike as before. ~Unknown~
