Emery D. Hartley, 83, of 4108 Lakeside, Beaverton, died suddenly Tuesday, Nov. 11, in the Midland Hospital. Born in Kawkawlin on December 5, 1896, he was a retired maintenance supervisor with Buick Motor Division in Flint. He came to Gladwin County 24 years ago.
Mr. Hartley and the former Agnes Potter were married in 1940 in Flint.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Clarence of Beaverton and Lee of Flint; 2 daughters, Mrs. Frank (Marie) McDougall of Lake George and Ginger Ferlito of Miami Beach, Fla.; one step-son, Leo Sanford of Marshville, N. C; 4 stepdaughters, Mrs. Margaret Skinner of Flushing, Mrs. Betty Tidball of Mt. Morris, Mrs. Shirley Neeley of Clio and Mrs. Nancy Cross of Lincoln Park; 2 brothers, Harry of Russellville and Fan of Flint; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ralph Carlson of Bay City and Mrs. Fred Cook of Charlotte; and several grandchildren.
Rites were held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. The Rev. Dana Lane officiated and burial was in the Billings Township Cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 11-19/1980.
