Albert Kuehne, 70, 1135 N. Washington St., died unexpectedly in Mercy Hospital at 6 p.m. Wednesday after an illness of two days. A former Fisher Body employee, he was active in labor circles. Born April 16, 1895, in Springfield, Ill., he was the son of Ernest and Clara Lehman Kuehne. He was married to Margaret Kernohan in Chicago March 27, 1920. She died July 10, 1963. During World War I, Mr. Kuehne enlisted in New York Feb. 25, 1918, in the British Foreign Service and served with Canadian forces until his release from service Aug. 26, 1919. He was employed at the Fisher Body plant from 1927 until retiring in 1959 and was active in Local 95, United Auto Workers, holding various offices including that of vice president from 1952-56. He was active, also in the Disabled American Veterans, Stephen Bolles Chapter 6, and in Kienow-Hilt Post Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors are two sons, Allen and George, and a daughter, Mrs. Robert Prueher, all of Janesville; 12 grandchildren a brother, Ernest, Janesville; four sisters, Mrs. Frieda Neumueller and Mrs. Paul Vogel Sr., Janesville, Mrs. Leon Kingsley, Chicago, and Mrs. Elizabeth Rose, Red Bluff, Calif. Burial in Milton Lawns Memorial Park.
