Mrs. Mary Baer O'Hara, 73, of Frederick, died at home on Friday, August 22, with family members by her side. She was the wife of Paul Ruley O'Hara, Jr for 46 years. Born on December 30, 1940, she was the daughter of Franklin T. Baer, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Baer.
Mrs. O'Hara worked for many years at Koffee Kup in downtown Frederick until she stayed home to raise her family. She enjoyed playing Bingo at the Elks Lodge and bowling with her teammates in the Walkersville morning bowling league. Mary was a member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Frederick.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two children, Kelli O'Hara Chung and husband Chien-Li of Glen Ridge, NJ and Paul Ruley O'Hara, III of Las Vegas, NV as well as three grand-children, Erin Pei-Wen O'Hara Chung, Haysie Pei-San O'Hara Chung and Gavin Ch'eng-En Chung. She is also survived by brothers and sisters Max Baer, Joan Neel (Charles), Charles Baer (Christine), Ronald Baer (Sandy) and Kay Droneburg (Henry) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. O'Hara was preceded in death by her siblings Betty Stup, Margaret Knott, Franklin Baer, Jr., Bruce Baer, William Baer, James Baer, Ann Brust and Sandra Jean Baer.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 28 at 11:00 AM in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
