Mrs. Margaret Ellen Knott, 81, of Frederick, MD passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at St. Joseph's Ministries, Inc. She was the beloved wife of Thomas Elbert Knott.

Born November 2, 1930 in Maryland she was the daughter of the late Franklin Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Smith Baer.

Mrs. Knott enjoyed being a farmer's wife. Margaret looked forward to organizing her yearly family reunion and family gatherings at the farm. She also enjoyed fishing, gardening, crossword puzzles, working in her vegetable garden with her husband and going to the beach with her daughters.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children Thomas E. Knott, Jr. and friend Lynn, Theresa M. Watson and husband Joseph, David B. Knott and wife Linda, Stephen F. Knott and wife Charlotte, James L. Knott, Mary E. Albaugh and husband Ervin, Mark A. Knott, Karen E. Toms and husband Michael and Charles F. Knott; grandchildren Joseph Watson, Jr., Beth Myers, Kenneth Knott, Deborah Offutt, Ryan Knott, Chris Knott, Robby Knott, Brandy Odin, Angel, James, Jr. Brenton and Brianne Knott, Stacey Chronister, Mark Knott, Jr., Margaret Knott, Michael Toms, Jr., Megan Toms, Chad Knott; 12 great- grandchildren; siblings Max A Baer Sr. and wife Kaye, Mary E. O'Hara and husband Paul, Joan Neel and husband Charlie, Ronald W. Baer and wife Sandy; Kay Droneburg and husband Henry and Charles Baer and wife Chris and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her siblings Betty J. Stup, Franklin T. Baer, Jr., Bruce O. Baer, Sr., Ann Brust, Donald W. Baer, James Lee Baer and Sandra Jean Baer.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD on Thursday, January 19, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM were a funeral service will be held on Friday, January 20 at 2 PM. Deacon Skip Manley will be the celebrant.

Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
