Benjamin “Benny” Franklin Myers Sr. 69 of Newton died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Sherrills Ford Hospice House.
Born April 3, 1945 in Roane County, West Virginia to the late Robert and Freida Potts Myers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Elsie Myers, seven brothers and three sisters.

A service to celebrate Benny’s life will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Conover. Pastor Brian Correll will officiate. Burial will follow at Maiden City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Serving as pallbearers: Donnie Randolph Sr, Jeff Walker, Tim Hudson, Richard Myers, Donnie Randolph Jr, Timothy Hudson, Dylan Randolph and Jacob Walker. Honorary Pallbearer: Tiffany Fuller.
