She was a native and lifelong resident of the Sulphur/Carlyss area. She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, drinking coffee, and visiting with friends and family. Addie was a warm, compassionate woman who was the epitome of a loving mother with a generous kind spirit. She was an amazing woman.
Survivors include her children, Bert McGavock of Sulphur, Rhandi Badgett and wife, Gloria of Lake Charles, Kempa Badgett Werner and husband, Darrell of Sulphur, and Beverly Badgett Collins and husband, Bruce of Panama City Beach, Florida; step-daughter whom she loved as her own, Carolyn Badgett of Sulphur; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Barbara Landry; and a dear life friend, Emily Roux of Sulphur.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Badgett; daughter-in-law, Doye McGavock; brother, Burns "Red" Landry; and her beloved cat, Callie.
A celebration of Addie's life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerard Little will officiate. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until the time of the celebration. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of High Hope Care Center, Brighton Bridge Hospice, and Dr. Lannan for their special care and compassion.
