Gloria Jean "Jeanie" Shumate, age 68, of Bella Vista passed away on April 25, 2014, in Bentonville. She was born Aug. 17, 1945, in Rogers, Ark., to Ivan Jake David Cline and Leota Deloris Hientz Cline.

She was a lifelong resident of the area.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ted Rae Shumate; a sister, Paulette Cline; a brother, Paul Michael Cline; a son, Troy Kently Petty; and one niece, Nicole Cline.

She retired from the Benton County Sheriff's Office where she served as the comptroller.

Survivors are two daughters, Lisa Rene Adams and husband, Steve, of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Sonja Rae Conner and husband, Richie, of Bentonville, Ark.; two stepsons, Richard Shumate and Brett Shumate; two brothers, David Cline and wife, Sunan, of Pattaya, Thailand, Ricky Cline of Nevada, Mo.; one sister, Charlotte Magnus and husband, Larry, of Waller, Texas; a sister-in-law, Kathy Cline of Gateway, Ark.; four half-brothers, Jimmy Cline, Joe Cline, Steve Cline and George Cline; seven grandchildren, Kristen Kelly, Sara Brady, Stevie Adams, Ryan Conner, Reagan Conner, Emily Audlehelm and Corby Shumate; and one great-grandchild, Zaden Kelly; four nieces, Shelly Owens, Teresa Marcotte, Denise Musteen and Rhonda Quast; five nephews, Randy Cline, Ronnie Cline, Roger Cline, Nicholas Cline and Josh Cline; longtime partner and friend, Dan Neihaussen of Stilwell, Okla.; her beloved dog, Kooper; and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 28, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 29, at 2 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Scott Cemetery, east of Pea Ridge.
