Funeral services for Homer Howard Hammond, 92, of Locust Hill, will be held Saturday afternoon (Jan. 31, 1981) at 1:30 in Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel, Edina. The Rev. James Trosen of Novelty will conduct the services. Marjorie Brenizer and Karen Hall will furnish the music. Burial will be in the Locust Hill Cemetery west of Novelty.
Mr. Hammond died Wednesday evening (Jan. 28, 1981) at 7:05 in a Kirksville hospital, where he had been a patient since Jan. 13.
Born Nov. 13, 1888, in Knox county, he was the son of Riley and Arletta Cockrum Hammnond. He was never married.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews including Carl Browning of Leonard and John Reid of Homestead, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.
Mr. Hammond spent his entire life in Knox county in the Locust Hill community, where he was a farm laborer.
He was a member of the Locust Hill Community Church.
Bearers will be: Alva Parish, Eugene Brenizer, Laverne Gerhold, Larry Primm, Bill Rouse and Leroy Hall.
