James C. Truitt was born January 1865, the third son of William S. Truitt and Mahala Jane Burt Truitt. In 1886, he married Lucy C. Rotanzy in Chillicothe, Peoria, IL. It is shown in both birth certificates that James C. Truitt was a laborer and that Lucy was a housewife. What IS factual is that they were the parents to both Agnes Mae Truitt Gedye and Mahala Christina Truitt Marliere. I found on sworn affidavit of birth certificate, a Mrs. Blanche Godfey is sworn as sister to Agnes May Truitt.
Note: on Agnes' birth certificate her middle name is spelled May, but yet on her gravestone, her middle name is spelled as Mae.
