Jessie B. Norris, 108, of Krebs, died Mnday in McAlester. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church chapel with Rev. Alice McDowell officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Masonic Section, under the direction of Chaney's Funeral Home of McAlester. Born Jan. 9, 1888 in Coleman County, Texas, she was the daughter of John Samuel Boatright and Mattie Zoe (Featherston) Boatright. She came to Oklahoma with her parents at the age of two and had resided in Pittsburg County since. She married Dr. Thomas T. Norris in 1908 at Crowder and he preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 1942. She moved to Krebs in 1922. She attended Jones Academy in Hartshorne for a year, two years in Ohio and a year in Mary Hardin Baylor. She taught school in Crowder until her marriage. She was a lifelong member and worker in the Presbyterian Church, a member of the McAlester Fortnightly Club, Faith Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a homemaker and a member of McAlester Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a son and daughter in law, John David and Gerre Norris, Waco, Texas; a daughter, Helen Petitti of Alderson; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be the grandsons and great grandsons, Bill Norris, John Norris, Kenneth Parks, Jack Norris, Danny Jabara and Clem Peppers.
