Wife of Joseph Thomas Pevehouse. Married September 26, 1878 in Adair County, Missouri. To this union one child was born, Elzadia Zeleah Pevehouse. The only documented evidence of her date of death is the deed of adoption for Elzadia to her grandfather Martin VanBuren Meeker upon her mother's death. A Kirksville newspaper clipping from September 3, 1881 indicates that Sarah was ill and not expected to recover. I am speculating that Sarah is buried in this cemetery as Adair County Historical Society Cemetery Records dated 1980, has a daughter of "M.V. & Martha" listed with Clara J. Meeker's death information, "age 24-8m-11d". The source for this information was the DAR records of 1915. Sarah was the only daughter of Martin and Martha that was close to that age. No documentation of Sarah's date of birth exists. Census records have several different birth dates.
