Nina Jo White, 79, of Plainview went to be with her heavenly father on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, in Plainview.
A celebration of life was held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2014, with Pastor Don Robertson officiating. Burial followed in Plainview Cemetery under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home.
Mrs. White was born on September 4, 1934 in Lockney, Texas to the late Benjamin Bert and Essie Mae (Eiland) Vernon. She attended Lockney schools and married Milton White on November 7, 1955 in Lockney. He preceded her in death in April of 1990. Mrs. White was a member of Living Water Emmaus Community, Gleaners’ Sunday School Class, and Bethel Baptist Church. She was known to most for her love of embroidery, but most of all the love for her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Melton ; brothers, Bert Vernon, Jr. , Don Vernon , and one sister, Bettye Cruse .
Those left to cherish her memory are three brothers, Royce Vernon and wife, Irma of Round Rock, Alvin Vernon and wife, Maxine of Lubbock, Jerry Vernon and wife, Kathy of Troop, and one sister, Norma Chalupa and husband, Frank of Ft. Worth. She is also survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Ethelyn Garnett of Lockney, and Charles and Jorea Tue of Midland, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
