Troy, IL--Joseph Tannehill, a Troy resident for many years, died Thursday, August 23, at St. Joseph hospital in Highland, following a three weeks' illness. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, August 25, in Troy with Rev. R.H. Mornhinweg of the Friedens Evangelical and Reformed church officiating. Interment was in Friedens cemetery.
Mr. Tannehill was born in Freeburg, May 21, 1871 and had reached the age of 85 years, 3 months and 2 days. He was married to Elizabeth Bickel in Edwardsville September 9, 1898.
Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Hazel Morstain of Highland, Mrs. Mabel Koch of East St. Louis and Mrs. Helen Wright of Los Angeles, California; two sons, Kenneth of East St. Louis and Harold of Brentwood, Mo.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Arthur and a daughter, Hattie.
Mr. Tannehill was a retired coal miner.
