Mrs. Katherine Gauss (nee Beisel) widow of the late George Gauss, a well known citizen of Belleville, died at her home, 209 North Illinois street, Friday night at 11 o'clock at the age of 86 years.
Deceased was born in Germany, April 6, 1828, and was married to George Gauss in 1849. He died in 1888.
She leaves two sons, George and Victor Gauss, sister, Mrs. Margaret Schneider, four grandchildren and one great grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock Walnut Hill cemetery. Rev. Otto Pessel Officiating. She was a member of the St. Paul's church.
