She was born in Burke County, the daughter of the late Hazel Thompson Turner and Beatrice Devinney Turner. She was married to her husband of 44 years, Donald Vincent Caraway, who preceded her in death on September 4, 1998. Mrs. Caraway was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She loved gardening, crafting and sewing. Most importantly, she loved the Lord and her family. She touched the hearts of all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Tillman Michael Caraway; and three sisters, Katherine Turner, Jewel Stanley and Marilyn Foster.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 PM Wednesday, August 13th, 2014 at Salem United Methodist Church in Morganton with Reverend David Orders officiating and Reverend Abby Kocher assisting. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
