EMERSON, VERNA C., of Louisville, born October 15, 1911 passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at her residence. She was a native of Washington Co., KY, the former Verna Cheser, a graduate of Nazareth College, and taught in a one room school house at High Grove. She was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, Crescent Hill Order of Eastern Star, former member of Beechmont Women's Club, a funeral director and past president of the Ladies Division of Kentucky Funeral Directors Association.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, H. Vernon Emerson; daughter, Pauline Rohr (Carl); brother, Donald Cheser; sister, Corine Snider; grandson, Kristopher Rohr (Amber); and great- granddaughter, Samantha Rohr.

Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd., with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Highlands. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Kosair Charities.
