SPRINGFIELD - The graveside service will be held Feb. 22 for Idus "Lonnie" Bolt of Springfield, who died Feb. 19 of age-related causes. He was 89.

Bolt was born Nov. 4, 1916, in Randolph County, Ala., to Dave and Nina Sellers Bolt. He married Gladys Marcus in 1939 and they divorced in 1957. He married Lois Fowler in 1959 and they divorced in 2000.

He grew up in Alabama. He moved to Disston in 1941, living there until 1957. He then moved back to Alabama, where he lived in Oxford and Anniston. He had lived in Springfield since 2000.

Bolt was a self-employed carpenter. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, fishing, woodworking and tinkering.

Survivors include two daughters, Christine Thomas of Jasper and Wanda Gray of Pleasant Hill; four sons, David and Randy, both of Springfield, Rex of Creswell and Jim of Birmingham; a brother, Loyd of Anniston, Ala.; his former spouses, Gladys Bolt of Pleasant Hill and Lois Bolt of Birmingham, Ala.; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. A son, Roger, died in 1968.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, Feb. 21, at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.

Wednesday's service will be held at 1 p.m. at Springfield Memorial Gardens. Following the service, a gathering will be held at the IOOF Lodge at 342 Main St. in Springfield. Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's disease research.
