Steven, age 66, died unexpectedly at the emergency room of Labette Health in Parsons. He was the son of Ray L. and Zana J. (Neagle) Aikins. He graduated from Chanute (KS) High School in 1966, Central Missouri State College at Warrensburg with a bachelors degree, and Pittsburg State Teachers College with a masters degree in education. He married Glenda J. Wolford on February 14, 1971, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Iola, Kansas. Survivors include his wife, his children, Ryan Aikins and Mandy Collins, seven grandchildren, and his siblings, Richard Aikins, Scott Aikins, Linda Heer, Rita Berntsen, and Nancy Axtell. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Steven Ray Aikins Jr. Funeral services were held at Thayer Christian Church. Burial was in Mount Moriah Cemetery near Stark.
