Son of Charles Tupper (1748-1822) and Elizabeth West (1754-1837). Married first to Rachel Tupper Rand on 17 April 1817; married second to Lucy Farnsworth Morse on 09 January 1834; and married third to Mary Elizabeth (Walker) West on 11 May 1857. Had eight children by first wife and four by second wife.
