Dr. Nathaniel W. Voorhees died at his home, "Hill Acres", near High Bridge at the age of 71. He had suffered for four years and had been seriously ill about four weeks prior to his death with heart troubles.

Son of Nathaniel W. and Naomi Leigh Voorhees. His father was for many years cashier of the First National Bank of Clinton. His brother, Samuel, was an officer of the same institution. Another brother, Foster M. Voorhees, became governor of New Jersey. Miss Elizabeth Voorhees, a sister, has since passed away, leaving as the only one of the family remaining, Miss Mary Voorhees, who still resides at the old Voorhees homestead in Clinton.

Dr. Voorhees took great interest in charity work and civic affairs. He graduated from Rutgers College and the University of Pennsylvania and practiced medicine at Scranton and Danville, Pa. He never married. Dr. Voorhees took a great interest in the Voorhees State Park which his brother left to the State and which includes "Hill Acres".
