Samuel succeeded his father as the cashier of the First National Bank of Clinton and served in that capacity about 17 years.
He was a member of Clinton Presbyterian Church and for years, had been a trustee.
He was survived by his wife, two brothers, former NJ Governor Foster M. Voorhees, Dr. Nathan Voorhees of High Bridge, and two sisters, The Misses Mary and Elizabeth Voorhees of Clinton. He was a nephew of Mrs. Ralph Voorhees of Clinton.
He was predeceased by his son, Foster M. Voorhees.
His obituary was published in the Hunterdon County Democrat on May 15, 1924.
