He was born March 19, 1890, in the Town of Seneca, Waushara County, a son of August and Augusta Gustrow Alf. He married Lydia Lichtenberg at Berlin on Dec. 20, 1914.
Mr. Alf was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Berlin, and was a farmer.
Surviving are his widow; two sons, Clifford Alf of Ripon and Alfred Alf of Berlin; four daughters, Mrs. Erwin Berger of Green Lake, Mr. Ambrose Braun of Waupun, Mrs. Robert Jensen of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Mrs. Richard Werch of Cedarburg; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. William Lang of Berlin.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church, Berlin, with Pastor Harold Gluth officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Berlin.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday at Rasque Funeral Home, Berlin, and at the church from noon Thursday until the time of services.
