OBITUARY-HUTCHINGS: Neosho Daily News--Thursday, August 9, 1945

Noel Alexander Hutchings

Noel Alexander Hutchings was born November 26, 1869, and departed this life August 4, 1945, at the age of 75 years. He was married to Lilly Mae Buxton on November 22, 1899 and to this union four children were born.

He professed faith in Christ when a young man, and joined the Baptist Church at Mt. Olive, living a Christian life throughout the years. He was a kind and loving father and a true friend, and will be greatly missed by all of his relatives and a host of friends.

Surviving are one son, Lester Hutchings of Fairview; three daughters, Mrs. Ina Henson of Pierce City, Mrs. Nellie Embrey of Start City and Mrs. Mae Sanders of Washburn; 20 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a sister residing in Salina, OK. Four of the grandsons are in the armed services, two of them on foreign soil.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Fairview Baptist Church. Rev. G.T. Kelley, assisted by Rev. Melvin Hinson, officiated. Burial was in the Dice Cemetery.

He was married to Lilly May Buxton (daughter of unknown Buxton and Eliza J. Buxton) on 22 November 1899 in South of Newtonia, Newton Co., MO.

MARRIAGE ANNOUNCEMENT

The following is taken from the Newton County News dated November 23, 1899

Married on yesterday, November 22, 1899, at 4 P.M. at the home of the bride's grandfather, John Buxton, south of Newtonia, Miss Lilly Buxton to Mr. Noel Hutchens (mis-spelled), also of near Newtonia, Eld. S.M. Skaggs officiating.

The bride is a sweet and loving dispositionsed girl and will make her new home a happy one for her husband. She was attired in light blue trimmed in white and looks very pretty.

The groom is an upright young man of high morals, well fitted to make his bride's life a happy one.

A fine supper was partaken of by about thirty guests.

The young couple will go to house-keeping soon on a farm near Neosho.

The NEWS joins the many friend of the newly wedded pair in extending congratulations.
