Lila Joyce Beckstead Anderson

Today, January 29, 1998, I lost my hardest battle ever. My two year fight with Emphysema is finally over. But I am now rejoined with my soulmate, George H. Anderson, Jr. whom I married on October 9, 1948. He preceded me in death on April 9, 1994.

My most contented hours were spent playing my piano and reading. I loved cooking for my family with two specialties that they loved which were my shrimp salad and homemade soups. For 13 years George and I and our children spent many happy hours working closely with our dear friends, Stu Falconer (deceased), Ariel Balliff (deceased) and Tom Carlin, working all together to build one of the finest live theatres in Salt Lake, Theatre 138.

The hardest part of my passing are all the dear ones I leave behind. I leave behind my two beloved children, James B. (Janet) Anderson and Terri (Serge) Orrillo; three grandchildren, Angelina and Sam Aitken, Michael (Julie) Hall; two stepchildren, Neina And Vanessa Orrillo. I also leave behind my little dog, Sarah, who helped me through those darkest hours. Also there is my brother, Samuel (LaRae) Beckstead and sisters, Dorris Beckstead, Rosella Matthews, Wanda Brewer; brother-in-law, D.L. "Bud" (Vi) Anderson and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. I was preceded in death by my parents, Sam and Delila Beckstead.

The family would like to say thank you to the loving and caring staff at Pioneer Valley Hospital and to all her family and friends for all their love and support. Burt, there are not enough words that can express our sincere gratitude to Colleen Pratt and her wonderful family who were ALWAYS there for Mom when she needed them. And thank you, Colleen, for your help these last few weeks.

Funeral services, Tuesday, February 3, 1998, 12 noon, Jenkins-Soffe Mort., 4760 So. State where friends may call Monday 6-8 p.m. and Tues., 11-11:50 a.m. Interment - Larkin Sunset Gardens.
