David Kranendonk, age 88, passed away on January 26, 2010 in Salt Lake City.

He was born January 22, 1922 in Salt Lake City to Gerrit Kranendonk and Catherina deHaan.

He married Donna Jean Madsen in the Salt Lake Temple. She later died. He then married Hazel Southworth in the Salt Lake Temple.

A lifelong patriot, David served in World War II in the Navy as a gunner. He was a master printer and worked over forty years at Rocky Mountain Bank Note. He owned a hand-fed printing press and produced many hundreds of projects.

He was a faithful member of the LDS Church, serving as Bishop of the Twenty-Second Ward, Salt Lake Stake, as well as many varied callings.

Survived by wife, Hazel; children, Claudia Price and Dayva Holody; step-children, Leonard Rustad and Susan Mills; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Catherine, Arlene, Dan, and Beverly. Preceded in death by first wife, Donna Jean; parents; siblings, Alice, Agnas, Irma, Harry, Frank, and Bill; and step-son, Richard Rustad.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Seventeenth Ward Chapel, Salt Lake Stake, 225 West 500 North. Friends may call on Sunday, January 31, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street, and prior to the services at the church on Monday from 9:45-10:45 a.m.
Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
