Mother: Joanna Harriet Mosley
-----------------------------------------------------
Obit: Jan 28, 1944, The Goldthwaite Eagle - Mrs. L.W. French
" Hattie Williamson French was born at Morristown, Minnesota Feb. 20, 1966 and departed this life Jan. 19, 1944. Her family moved to Texas and settled in Bell county she she was 10 months old. Here she grew to womanhood and was united in marriage with Rev. L.W. French August 4, 1886.
Sister French was soundly converted in childhood and later sanctified wholly. She was a pioneer in the holiness movement and became a member of the Church of the Nazarene when that church was organized.
She was a devoted mother and a loyal wife. She continued to care for her invalid husband until the stroke came that ended her ministrations.
She felt the day was not started right without secret prayer. There is a grove some distance from the family residence known as "Mother's Grove" by the family. Many are the times she has prayed through to victory in this place made sacred by her secret devotions. When owing to failing health she was unable to go to the grove, she went to the crib near the residence, and when no longer able to go to the crib her voice could be heard in the early mornings in her bedroom pleading with God for her children and other causes near to her heart."
