Ludwig Pfannenstiel, Retired Farmer, Dies

Ludwig Pfannenstiel, 78, 406 West 16th, retired farmer, died early today in St. Anthony Hospital.

Survivors are his widow, Johanna, of the home; five sons, Alex, Denver, Theodore, Plainville, Edward, Wichita, Julius and Francis, both of Hays; three daughters, Sister M. Audrey, C.S.A., Kewaskum, Wis., Mrs. Adolph Burton and Mrs. Delbert Walters, both of Hays; two sisters, Mrs. Jerome Herl, Hays, and Mrs. Alex Hertel, Ness City; three brothers, John M. and Joe M. Pfannenstiel, both of Hays, and Anton Pfannenstiel, Ness City; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Pfannenstiel was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Thomas Ray, who died in Junction City last April.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's church here. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Brock Funeral Home from 8:30 tonight until the hour of the service.
