Charles Pedro Buford stepped into the loving arms of his savior Jesus Christ, October 2, 2014, after a long battle with numerous illnesses. He was 71.
Pedro was a member of the groundbreaking Jesus Music group Mustard Seed Faith and his music touched millions of hearts and souls worldwide over a period of four decades.
His long time friend and bandmate, Pastor Oden Fong, wrote this notice on Facebook:
"Good Morning Saints! It's a beautiful morning, another day in the LORD.
I wanted you to know that last night Pedro Buford passed away last night. He had called Pastor Jerry a couple of days ago and said, "I'm going home!!!"
He meant that he was going home to his house which he had been away from for months, but he actually went to his true home with Jesus!
Both Pastor Jerry and Bill Carroll had spoken to him yesterday. He was fine and happy. And this is the state he was in when the LORD took him home.
THANK YOU for your unceasing prayers for Pedro. We saw him literally taken from death's door because of your prayers and love for him. I believe that God did not want him to die in the condition he was in; with a horrible infection, in a hospital, being put to death by being euthanized. He died in his favorite place, in his own home with his wife, Judie, with dignity and no pain.
We will be calling Judy today to talk about the memorial. It may be that we might have to have one in Oregon for family and one in California for his countless friends. Please pray for Judie and the rest of the family.
