Norris Waite Jr., 34, of Springfield died Wednesday, March 29, 1989 at his home. He was born Feb. 5, 1955 in St. Louis to Norris and Lou Abbett Waite, who survive at Eldon.
At the time of his death, Mr. Waite was a student at Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield. He held degrees in chemistry and biology from Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, the University of Missouri-Columbia in poultry science and Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield with a degree in economics and finance. He was active in the Naval Reserves and had served in the United States Navy Air Corps. HE was a member of the Eldon First Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a half-brother, Shannon Waite of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; two sisters, Karen Conover of Jefferson City and Martha Waite of Springfield; a brother, Mark Waite of San Diego, Calif.; and his maternal grandmother, Mary Abbett of Eldon.
Funeral services were held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. James Ryan officiating. Burial was in the Eldon Cemetery.
