Mrs. Margaret Estelle Barnes, 88, of Waycross, died Thursday (Sept. 22, 2005) night at her residence after an extended illness. Born in Jacksonville, FL to the late Orwin Lea and Margaret Lea, she had made her home in Waycross for most of her life. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Mary-Martha Sunday School Class, the Dutch Treat Club and the Waycross Woman's Club.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Norment A. Barnes Sr., and a sister, Edmee Lee. Mrs. Barnes is survived by two sons, two daughters, A funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
