Mr. Jones served in the US Army during WWII as a member of Company A 380th Engineering Combat Battalion. He received a World War II Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, AP Theater Ribbon, and Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He served as a Deacon and was a founder and builder of several churches through the years. He was currently a member of Lost Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan.
Lucian is survived by children Sharon Quinn, Vicki Starrett, Kim Honea, and Darren Jones; siblings Kirby Jones, Lilly Sue Workman, and Virginia Skinner; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside memorial service will be at 2pm, Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hampton.
