Lucian J. Jones, 88 of Sheridan, died Thursday, July 31, 2014. Lucian was born December 11, 1925 in Thornton, AR to the late Charley Hugh and Mary Adella Jones. He is also preceded in death by son, Lucian Terence Jones and five siblings.

Mr. Jones served in the US Army during WWII as a member of Company A 380th Engineering Combat Battalion. He received a World War II Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, AP Theater Ribbon, and Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He served as a Deacon and was a founder and builder of several churches through the years. He was currently a member of Lost Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan.

Lucian is survived by children Sharon Quinn, Vicki Starrett, Kim Honea, and Darren Jones; siblings Kirby Jones, Lilly Sue Workman, and Virginia Skinner; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside memorial service will be at 2pm, Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hampton.
