Elizabeth's parents were Edward Simon Groulx and his first wife Rosalie Rooiacker. Her mother died in 1884. She was raised by her grandmother Maria Theresa (Lescohier) Rooiacker.
Elizabeth married Enos Lesperance on 11 Nov. 1903 in Essexville, Michigan.

Elizabeth is recorded in the 1900 census as living in Hampton Twp at the home of her uncle Alphonse Van Poppelen with aunt Louise (Rooiaker) Van Poppelen, and grandmother Teresa Rooiaker.

Mrs. Elizabeth T. (Lily) Lesperance, 84, 805 Pine St., Essexville, died early Sunday morning at her home after a lingering illness. Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Groulx, she was born Aug. 10, 1881, in Hampton Township, and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was married to Enos Lesperance Nov. 17, 1903, at St. John's Church. She was a member of St. John's Church and its Alter Society, Bay County League of Catholic Women and Legion of Mary. Surviving are her husband, five daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Rose) Verellen, Mrs. Mabel Schultz of Essexville, Mrs. Floyd (Ursula) Dack of Pinconning, Mrs. Thomas (Betty) DesJardins of Vassar and Mrs. Robert (Audrey) Carolan, Maryville, four sons, Reginald F. of Bay City, Edward F., Ernest G., and Glenn J., all of Essexville, six sisters, one brother, 30 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday morning.
