Richad Hollinshead, a highly esteemed citizen of Thompson township, died at his home at Dickey's Mountain, Saturday, November 24, 1928, of cancer of the stomach. He was a son of James and Mary (Mellott) Hollinshead and was born October 31, 1842, being aged 86 years and 23 days.

Mr. Hollinshead was united in marriage to Sarah Morton who preceded him in death one and one-half years. He spent almost all his lifetime in this county in farming. He was a good christian man, a fine neighbor and one who always had a kind word or friendly greeting for all. He was a member of the Damascus Christian Church, being one of the founders of that church.

He is survived by three brothers, Thomas of Harrisonville; James, of Greencastle and Benjamin of Plum Run.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 27, 1928 in Damascus Church at 10 A.M. in charge of Rev. A. R. Garland. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.
